Our advanced Intense Pulsed Light technology can perform facial thread vein (telangiectasia veins) removal. Thread veins are small blood vessels just beneath the skin, they are usually tiny red, blue, or purple vessels. These usually appear on the cheeks or the chin.
Thread veins can develop in anyone at any age. There are several factors which can lead to or cause thread veins such as sun damage, drastic changes in the weather, pregnancy, alcohol, genetics, and hormonal changes.

Light energy is applied to the blood vessel, which causes the vessel to heat up quickly. The heat will destroy the vessel and the body will reabsorb the vessel. Whilst some vessels may disappear instantly, others can take up to a couple of weeks to be absorbed.
For mild cases an average of 2-4 sessions are required. For more severe cases 3-5 treatments may be required.
Most thread vein treatments take around 5 minutes, but can depend on how severe your thread veins are.
The face only.
Once a blood vessel has been successfully destroyed it will not return. However, it is possible new thread veins may present themselves in the future.
Most people describe the treatment as a warming or tingling of the skin, and in some cases a flick of an elastic band sensation.
Most treatments are easy and quick to perform. We will apply some soothing gel after each treatment to help minimise discomfort and redness to the treatment area.
