Warts are small, rough viral growths on the skin. They can be spread by direct or indirect contact, such as contaminated swimming pool floors. Warts and verrucas will usually resolve by themselves but this can take months or even years. Verrucas are part of the wart family and are known as plantar warts.

A low current will be passed over the entire surface of the wart. We will then pass a gentle current into the wart with a fine probe, to ensure we sufficiently destroy the growth. More than one treatment may be needed. Most of our patients describe the sensation as a little uncomfortable but not too painful.
Sometimes only one treatment is required, however more often than not a few treatments to fully destroy a wart or verruca is needed.
Warts are caused by the HPV wart virus. This virus can be spread from one person to another by direct or indirect contact, via contaminated surfaces.
Warts can be successfully removed using this treatment. However, as warts are caused by a virus, it is possible to get new warts in other places.
