Most acne treatments involve the long-term use of antibiotics; however, many dermatologists consider laser treatments gold standard care for acne.

Intense Pulsed Light treatments can keep fresh acne breakouts at bay by killing the bacteria that cause infection and the formation of spots.

How Does It Work?

Intense Pulsed Light targets acne in two ways. We use the blue and yellow light to destroy the bacteria that cause the acne. Additionally, infrared wavelengths penetrate deeply into the skin, heating the overactive sebaceous glands and reducing sebum output. The heating of the skin will stimulate the production of collagen and elastin which may improve the appearance of acne scarring.

What Triggers Acne?

There are numerous factors that can cause acne, and multiple triggers that can be associated with an outbreak. These include genes, hormones, products, air pollution, stress, drugs, and certain conditions such as poly cystic ovary syndrome.
