Skin Tag Removal

Skin tags can be removed simply & quickly with advanced electrolysis. It is a highly effective procedure, which takes very little time.

Skin tags are commonly found in areas of friction such as the neck, underarms, groin and around the breasts. Removal will prevent irritation. They commonly catch on clothing, which can cause pain and bleeding.

Skin tags can vary in size, they can be smaller than a grain of rice, and can grow bigger than a pea. The treatment is non-invasive and does not commonly leave any scarring.

At Hayley’s Hair Removal & Aesthetics Poole, we will assess any skin imperfections and advise you on the best treatment plan. A patch test is not normally needed prior to removal.

Frequently asked questions

How Does Skin Tag Removal Work?

The skin tag will be cauterised with a small electrolysis probe. In a lot of cases, we can instantly remove the skin tag, however this does depend on how they are attached to the skin.

If we are unable to instantly remove the skin tag, we will pass a gentle current through the growth to ensure we sufficiently destroy the blood supply to the skin tag. The skin tag may darken and will typically fall off in the next 7 days.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

Often only one treatment is needed to destroy a skin tag. Occasionally a few treatments may be needed – this depends on on the size of the skin tag.

If you have quite a few skin tags then you may have to come in for multiple sessions.

What Causes Skin Tags?

Skin tags commonly develop in skin folds or creases, due to the skin rubbing against itself in these areas. Several factors can increase the likelihood of developing skin tags, such as pregnancy, obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of skin tags.

Is Skin Tag Removal Permanent?

Skin tags do not grow back once removed. It is possible for new skin tags to appear, especially if you are prone to them.
